Bernhard Jasper is a German cinematographer and director, born in 1972. At the age of 23, he made several short films and passed the entrance test for the Filmacdemy Ludwigsburg (Germany), where he studied directing and cinematography. During his studies, he specialized in cinematography and gained the opportunity to work in the film industry. He shot numerous commercials and music videos for famous music acts and companies. After completing his degree in 2001, he shot his first TV movie. Since then, he has shot 19 TV features and 24 movies, most of which are among the most successful German box office films. He also worked on "Open water 2" and "Life above all," which was on the shortlist for the Academy Awards in 2011. For both seasons of the first German Amazon series "You Are Wanted" (2017-2019), Bernhard was responsible for both cinematography and directing. In 2021, he did the cinematography for Zach Snyder's "Army of Thieves," directed and starring Matthias Schweighöfer, which was the 5th most-watched Netflix movie of that year. He is currently working on a new Netflix movie called "Lift," starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Kevin Hart, Sam Worthington, and Jean Reno, directed by F. Gary Gray.
